From Books to Breakthroughs: A Scholar’s Quest for Excellence

Great opportunities don’t just come everyday, you have to seize them with every chance you get.

Glaiza Mae G. Garibay, an incoming 2nd year college student, taking up bachelor of  Science in Tourism Management at St. Therese College of Taguig. She is the daughter of Lydia Garibay, a proud 13-year LifeBank member who works as a street sweeper and sometimes as a launderer.

Through her mother’s membership, Glaiza became a LifeBank scholar significantly alleviating their financial burden, particularly with her educational expenses. She expresses deep gratitude to LifeBank Foundation for helping them in their financial challenges.

The opportunity to be granted with a scholarship is already a big favor for her and for her mother, she quoted to her fellow scholars “Huwag niyo pong sayangin ang opportunity na binigay sa Inyo dahil hindi lahat ng estudyante ay nabibigyan ng ganitong opportunity.”

As she embarked on her academic journey, Glaiza looked forward to a brighter future inspired by the value of perseverance and the importance of making the most of every opportunity.
