Having a home is where we can create memories, share love, find peace, and build a dream.
It’s a dream come true for 34-year-old Jonabeth Deplomo from Mandawe, Bien Unido, Bohol, to build a house. Life had not been easy for her, working as a personal assistant while raising three (3) daughters with her husband, who works as a fisherman. They lived in a small hut made from scavenged materials using tarps and scrap walls to protect their children from the heat and rain.

Their situation was also worsened when their house was washed away by the typhoon making it unsafe for their family. This devastation motivated Jonabeth and her husband to dream of building a new house to provide a secure and comfortable home for their children. They found out that LifeBank offers a program, the Bahay Matibay Program, through their Account Officer. They saw a glimmer of hope, and without hesitation, they applied.

The application process involved validation by LifeBank staff. Their house was carefully inspected to confirm its condition and assess eligibility for the program. At this stage, Jonabeth remained hopeful, knowing she was a step closer to achieving her dream.
Jonabeth prayed for strength and the means to rebuild their house, echoing in her heart. By God’s Grace, she was deemed eligible for the program and finally saw her dream become a reality. Throughout the process, LifeBank Foundation staff provided continuous guidance, visiting weekly to ensure the construction was completed successfully.
With the completion of the Bahay Matibay Program, Jonabeth can now sleep soundly and wake up with joy, knowing her family has a decent, secure home. The house has become a safe place to live for her three daughters.
Jonabeth and her family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to LifeBank Foundation and its partners for making her wish possible and for being able to avail of the program.
Despite the challenges and hardships, Jonabeth’s persistence and determination are shown. The new house is more than just shelter—it’s a foundation for their future.
With the support of the LifeBank Foundation, stories like Jonabeth Deplomo prove that anything is possible. While we all face different experiences in life, programs like these create a positive impact not only on the members of the organization but also on the broader community.
